Rivne region

a picturesque patch of Volyn, which is famous for its historical past.

Even though the region has interesting pages of history, the tragic past of Rivne Oblast has also survived to our day.

The period of the Second World War became the most terrible in the history of Ukraine. The war also covered large areas of the region.

On June 27, 1941, large units of German tanks and motorized infantry launched an attack on Rivne, which was held back on the Lviv Highway by units of the 43rd Tank Division.

On the morning of June 28, the first enemy motorcyclists appeared in Rivne. During July, the Nazis occupied almost the entire territory of our region.
